National DO NOT CALL Registry
FYI....I looked on the Do Not Call official website from the FTC and found
the following Q&A regarding cell phone registration and the emails urging
people to register cell phones:
What Phone Numbers Can I Register?
2. Can I register my cell phone on the National Do Not Call Registry?
Yes, you may place your personal cell phone number on the National Do
Not Call Registry. The registry has accepted cell phone numbers since
it opened for registrations in June 2003. There is no deadline to
register a home or cell phone number on the Registry.
You may have received an email telling you that your cell phone is
about to be assaulted by telemarketing calls as a result of a new
cell phone number database; however, that is not the case. FCC
regulations prohibit telemarketers from using automated dialers to
call cell phone numbers. Automated dialers are standard in the
industry, so most telemarketers don’t call consumers on their cell
phones without their consent.

It is the National DO NOT CALL list It will only take a minute of your time... It blocks your number for five (5) years. You must call from the cell phone number you want to have blocked. You cannot call from a different phone number.

The Town of Yarmouth seeks a skilled professional for the full time 40 hour per week staff position of Deputy Chief of EMS and Training. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of a Bachelors degree in fire sciences, emergency medical services, public administration, or any field closely related to the fire service, Pro Board Certification of Fire Officer I and II. Other degree fields will be considered by the Fire Chief; Paramedic certification essential; Minimum of five years experience as a paramedic; Minimum of five years experience as a Lieutenant or Captain.

Moderated by Bill Webb, CFSI Executive Director, the program will feature Andy Quinn, founding partner of McAllister and Quinn, a leading government relations company in Washington, DC. The two of them will talk about the Fire Sprinkler Incentive Act, legislation that would create economic incentives to install automatic fire sprinklers in commercial buildings. An important legislative initiative for the major fire service organizations, the measure was originally introduced in 2003 following the Station fire in West Warwick, RI that claimed the lives of 100 victims. Quinn serves as key advisor to a broad-based coalition of public safety organizations advocating for passage of the measure. A former legislative director for Congressman Steny Hoyer (MD-5), Quinn will discuss potential strategies for passage of the bill and answer questions regarding the overall outlook for working with Congress in the second session of the 111th Congress. His insight and knowledge of the inner workings of Congress can be of great benefit to fire service leaders who want to learn more about the legislative process.

Chief Francis C. Togneri, Ret.
Turners Falls Fire Department regrets to announce the passing of retired Chief Francis C. 'Murph" Togneri, 83, of 59 Millers Falls Road, Turners Falls, MA. He was Chief of the department from 1971 to 1987, and FCAM Chief memberhiship # 99.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 20, at 9:15 AM from the Kostanski Funeral Home, 1 Kostanski Square, Turners Falls, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 from Our Lady of Peace Church, 90 Seventh Street, Turners Falls. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Turners Falls.
Calling hours will be Friday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 PM from the funeral home. Members from other departments wishing to pay their respects are requested to gather at the funeral home on Friday at 6:45 PM.
