Update on Hobie Boswell

D-day (dismissal day) is almost here. Hobie has a message board in his room so for the past week we have had a count down. Right now he has 4 more days of being there and then come home about 9:00 a.m. Friday. I'm sure he will be calling me if I happen to be late!! Hobie is coming along so much the last couple of weeks. He now is walking a total of 600+ steps a day and they have been working on doing stair steps. He is very determined to get his freedom back again. We were thinking of having in house therapy but with him walking so much he would feel like a caged animal here at the house. My younger sister is living with us and Lori has said that she could get Hobie to out patient therapy there at Tabitha. Lori is a nurse and works night shifts so will be around to help out. If she can't take him all the time, then I will get other people who might be able to take Hobie. This way Hobie will be able to go for rides as know that will make him happy. If we had in house therapy, then Hobie could only go to church or doctor appointments or Medicare wouldn't pay for it. We got turned down at the VA.. Make too much money. Hobie was really disgusted about that--being a vet but can't get any help from them. At least glad that we do have some money when there are so many other people in need. We really wanted to get enrolled with the VA to help with Hobie's meds as he is on alot more now. Hopefully eventually he can stop taking some of them. We have been busy getting the house ready for Hobie to return. Decided that maybe he wouldn't like a bright rose colored bedroom so we are painting the second bedroom. Got a lift chair from my cousin which will be so helpful.
Thanks again for all the prayers and concerns. Hobie couldn't have progressed as much as he has without all the ecouragement from family and friends like you..

Take care, Nelda
