The Governor has activated 150 Guard members to increase the testing in the nursing homes across the state. Unfortunately, this testing needs to be done by paramedics and EMTs and the core of these Guard members are fire and police.

With that said, FCAM is working with the EOPS to compile a list of those fire departments that have personnel activated, in this latest round, and how it affects your department’s operations. For example, the Town of Bedford had 3 FF/medics activated and only has 8 total medics on the department to run their ALS ambulance 24/7. Additionally, these 3 makes are over 10% of their overall staffing. So please provide the hardship it creates.
