FLSS Seeking Board Nominations

The Fire and Life Safety Section is taking nominations for the following board positions:

• Chair - 2-year term expiring August 2018
• Vice Chair - 2-year term expiring August 2018
• Secretary / Treasurer - 1-year term expiring August 2017
• At Large - 3-year term expiring August 2019
• At Large - 3-year term expiring August 2019
• At Large - 1-year term expiring August 2017

Candidate qualifications for the board positions are included in the section bylaws (PDF).

The 2 at-large candidates receiving the most votes in the election will be elected to 3-year terms. The third-place finisher will be elected to a 1-year term.

However, only two at-large members from a given division can be on the board, which may affect a candidate’s eligibility to be elected into an at-large position. Eligibility will be evaluated by the Elections Committee.

Section members wishing to be placed in nomination must provide the following information to Russ Chandler RChandler@iafc.org no later than June 10:

• Name and office sought
• Employer and position within the organization
• Written authorization from their supervisor (where applicable) for them to serve in the position being sought.
• Disclosure of any potential conflict of interest, including private contractual or consulting relationships.
• A maximum 250-word biography/platform.

Latest ICC Voting Guide Available

Those of you who are members of the International Code Council are eligible to vote on the floor motions from the recent Committee Action Hearings in Louisville. FLSS has prepared a voting guide (PDF) for the floor motions that are of interest to the fire service.
