Just a reminder to those Chiefs that may be interested in the position of Secretary/Treasurer when Chief Dolan steps down in May of 2018.  

Two Chiefs had expressed interest in the past and Chief Dolan has been emailing them on what needs to be done or will be done in an effort to help in the transition for either of them.  

At the last Board of Directors meeting the Board approved the Web Site Committee recommendation for a company to build and redesign our current web site.  Included in that purchase is training on the website.  The previous two Chiefs who are interested in the Secretary/Treasurer position have been advised that the training will be coming up and it would be beneficial for them to attend the two day training.  That training has not as yet been scheduled, but if you are interested or think you are interested in this position notify the Secretary/Treasurer so that you can be notified when it is scheduled.

If you are interested you would, according to our by-laws, need to send notice to the Secretary/Treasurer of your intent to run for this position by December of 2017 - (90 days prior to the March FCAM meeting)  

You can be active or retired but there are ethics commission stipulations on an active chief performing this function.  Call the Secretary/Treasurer for more information on that if interested.

Below is Section 5 of the by-law pertaining to officers and the Secretary/Treasurer's position.

SECTION 5

Officers, when elected, must be active members, in good standing from the State of Massachusetts. The Secretary/Treasurer position may be held by a Retired Fire Chief if he is duly nominated and elected by the membership. The Immediate Past President shall be an active member of the Association assuming said office after completing a full one year term as President.
